View Full Version : timeWarp effect with particles

Hi there,
I am trying to create a timeWarp effect on the particles created by an emitter.

Letīs say at frame #5 the speed is the default and at frame #10 I want to slow down the WHOLE scene to 1/3 of the default speed.

I tried to key the speed... even the fields linked to the particles but , here is the problem, the keys only affect to the new particles born at that particular frame so the older particles still travel to the same old velocity.

Any ideas ?

This is what usually people do.

1. Create cache for your particle.
2. Create a new time node
3. Connect the time node outTime to time in particle.
4. Create a curve for this time node, like set 5 @ 5, and 10 @ 10, and then probably 40 @ 100.

create a particle disk cache and then keyframe the "time" attribute of your particles.. you can have any speed now, even backwards motion
