Timing is good except for the blinking...... too fast .... add 2 more frames when the eyelids go back up. Other than that, it's very cool and the lighting is very nice.
keep up the good work

thankyou for your replies.
facial animation done with morphs. It's a little static for me, I'm hanging on the edge of my chair for EEK to finish his facial animation tutorial to revisit this animation....

Wow your modeling skills are excellent and I love the morph bit at the end :buttrock:
The animation seems to be a bit stiff when he's sniffing, looks very puppet like.
Also try leading with eyes a bit more. He's not really looking at anything, maybe have him looking at the camera, or lock on to something out to the side.
nice job and keep it up.
Just out of interest is this character going be in a movie?

moo 4.5: thankyou for your crits. I agree with all you say. The character will be in a short, part of the short can be seen here (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=78252)
in a previous thread. I will upload the next sequence, which includes this old man when I can free up some web space. This specific animation was just a quick test when I finished the model, to see what he looked like with a little movement.
ppself: thanks!

That's great! Neat narrative twist to have in such a short space of time.
I did notice though, something that stands out to me that might be hurting the feel of the motion of skin.
His "folds", leading off of his nose, down to the sides of his mouth are good but could be better. When skin folds, it's two "outward" curves meeting at a point (think a line drawing of a butt), right now, it looks like he has an "inward" curve in place of that crease. A little bit of lovin could really make that look more like a natural hang of skin.
In any case, good work! -J.
