View Full Version : Attaching particles to other particles
scottN 08-22-2009, 09:35 AM I'm trying to do a scene where I have some bad cells attaching themselves to red blood cells causing them to die. However I don't know how to attach particles to particles and I'm killing myself over it. Does anyone know how I can acheive this? Thanks a bunch.

Have a look at Box #2 (http://www.orbaz.com/products/particleflow/box2/) . There you have sticky particles.

Without Box2 it is harder...
I'd first create the particle system for the blood cells and use a script (something like this (http://www.scriptspot.com/bobo/mxs5/pflow/pflow__MovingObjects.htm)) to bake the particle's motion into meshes (two sets of meshes: the renderable blood cells and bigger unrenderable copies of them (Push Modifier)). Then create a second particle system and use the bigger cell meshes in a Find Target Test (sadly you cannot use particles in Find Target...). When you check 'Animated Shape', 'Follow Target Animation' and 'Lock on Target Object', the particles should stick to the blood cells.
