View Full Version : adjusting UVW snapshot resolution?

ok, i got my UVW coords layed out and i want to export the UVW mesh picture, so i can paint a texutre on it in photoshop. I went to UVW snapshot, but the image size only goes up to 2048 x 2048, is there any way to increase this to any size i want? thnx

You have to do snapshot through the mel command to use higher resolutions. Just look it up in the manual for the syntax.

Hmmm, yes you can use uvSnapshot command to do snapshot at higher resolution, but as far as I remember it also has a limit on res, maybe it is related to graphic card I don't know.
The highest I can go is somewhere around 4000 x 4000, higher than that it wills say resolution to large.

i've never needed a texture larger than that but possibly uv sets might be the way to go? make seperate hi-res maps for the forehead, mouth, eyes and cheeks, chin if you're texturing a face or somethin'.

does it really matter? just scale it in photoshop....
