I'm working on my new demo reel and this is one of the pieces I did that I would like some feedback on. This is my first quadruped animation and I did a lot of research and study and watching crazy amounts of horse clips :)

Its looking pretty good so far, what have you got as reference? if its possible i would go to a stable or barn that offers lessons and just go and watch how a horse moves - if you dont already ride.
It looks as if it could use some more weight shifting before it actually starts the gallop, and right when it comes down from rearing up, it doesnt seem to have that much weight to it..it just looks kind of light. Try fixing that and i think it would look great :) keep at it!

Hi there,

I think it's coming but not here yet. Some parts are really stiff.
You should use the following video as a reference : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JewYtd8Ih7g

You'll really have up and down details for the spine and forward/backward mouvments due to the push of the legs.

Hope it helps !

Here is an update to the horse animation. I fixed the left ear as it was a little static, I also added a little more bend in the spine as it too was a bit static as mentioned. On the transition I added some more follow through on the head and body coming down and landing. Let me know what you think.

Wow! That's really good! Love the intro and all of the motion overall. The only problem I see is that the head bobbing is going backwards. It needs to be outstretched slightly before the whole body is straight because they use all those upper body muscles to propel them forward. Right now it's not contributing to powering the horse, just moving along with the motion. Good luck and good job!

Here is the 3rd touch up... In this video I fixed the head timing and took out a lot of the bending of the head.
