I would like to start animating my scenes now so figuring out how to use bones is the next logical step. I've followed the tutorial on Maxon's site for boning a hand (except applied to a robot that I've modeled) and am sure that all the restriction tags and bones are done correctly. I've gone thru the manual but can't find a solution. When I apply the bones to the object, it get's all deformed. I saw that they suggest that all your bones are straight before bending them to the way you like, does anyone know if this is why I'm getting these bizaar deformations?? TIA 3d_e

can you post the scene file?

Yeah...a scene file might help. Could be the restriction tags are off. Are you using IK or FK? Have you fixed the bones to the mesh and are they in the proper hierarchy? Did you use vertex maps or ClaudeBonet for the restrictions? I know these sound like dumb, basic questions, but this is where I know I usually make mistakes...something obvious that I missed.
