View Full Version : particle instance problem
skdzines 08-20-2009, 01:41 PM This is probably a simple question but, when I instance my particles and play the animation, the newly instance particles don't start from the originating emitter object. I can still see the original particles and the larger rock shards (instance particles) are way off to the side when they get created. I've attached an image showing what I'm talking about. I don't know if this is a common issue or what. Please let me know if I need to tell you the steps I'm taking.
Thanks for any help.

To fix u r prob:
1.The instancer object should be in the center of the grid.
2.Center pivot it.
3.Apply Freeze transformation.

Yes, and in case you plan on orienting them... You should align them along the positive X axis.

Well, I'm not sure what to do here. All of the following are located in the center of the grid: gravity field, turbulence field, instancer1, and lg_particles1. The only things that are not located in the center of the grid are my emitter object and emitter1 and the radial field which is placed below the emitter object you see in the image. I have redone the entire process several times, meaning, I have deleted all objects mentioned above and started over and I keep getting the same result. I'm at a complete loss and don't know what to do.

have you frozen transformation? so there all 0
basically select the rock itself (chunk1,chunk2 and so on)
center then at zero and freeze them.
not the group node (debris_chunks) but the actually the chunks themselves.
