View Full Version : How do I save pictures with good quality, without having photoshop?

When I make graphics on GIMP and save them, then upload to photobucket, they are mildly fuzzy and distorted. When I save them on paint, the same thing happens. Yet when I use a computer that has photoshop on it to save the graphics in photoshop and upload them on photobucket they look fantastic. What can I do, other than buying photoshop, to make my images have the same quality?

You could try Photoshop Elements, which is much, much cheaper.

Do you know what kind of file you are saving from each? JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF?

Turn the quality settings up on your jpeg dialog?

I ALWAYS SAVE AS .PNG

Hm. I think we need to see the images to be able to compare. Could you post them? The only thing I would think that could happen to a png is that one program is limiting the color palette. But that would result in banding or grainyness, not fuzziness.
