As a long time lurker I've found a lot of inspiration on this site. As a newer Maya user though I seem to run into silly problems at times that I can't figure out like this one: Any help would be appreciated.

If you look at the pic attachment you'll see that I have 2 NURBS shapes which I'd like to attach to make the top and outside of a gear. Whenever I try to attach them They tend to attach by point A to point B instead of point A to point C like I need. I've tried stitching them, reversing surface directions, and various other useless tricks that one employs in a panicked frustration but I can't seem to get them to attach properly... What am I doing wrong here?

It has to do with the surface direction.
To bypass this problem Click with your rightmouse on the first surface and choose for ISOPARMS select A and now rightclick on surface 2 and choose for ISOPARM again and now select C. And now just attach the two surfaces.

hey there we go! I'll be damned If it didn't work. I'd swear I tried that before unsucessfully but I must have not had the right isoparm because it worked fine the second time... Go figure...
Thanks galactor !
