Hello there boys and girls.

i have another ( yes, another ) question to ask you guys.
is there a possible way to get a Rereactive Scatter in maya? i mean, a scatter based on thickness of the object?

i've been looking at VRAY website and i found this:

http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150SP1/images/examples/vrayfastsss2/single_scatter_refractive_radius_50_dome.png

well, i guess there IS a way to get this with mental ray... but i dont know how.
can someone give me a hand in this problem please?

love you all. :)

it's called SSS (subsurface scattering). ya, MR has it

Yes, using the MR physical SSS shader, it's a bit slow, but you can get freaking realistic results with it, requires caustics and photon tracing to work...
