Hello all,

I have an interesting situation.

I have a biped skeleton... Which is Linked to a Ctrl Ring object around the waist of the skeleton... and THAT control Ring is linked to a MASTER root object at the base of the skeleton.

OK... the reason I do this is so that when I animate the biped I can easily grab the Master Root and move the whole animation around easily. I make the Master Root the IK follow object so that if I switch to OBJECT or BODY mode everything still works if I slide the master root around in the scene. Ive done this a bunch of times and it always works great...

The PROBLEM is... that I have a skeleton that just WONT do it... I have even recreated this skeleton again.. just in case.. but when I move the Control Ring down (The ring that the biped COM object is linked to) the Feet dont stay planted even though they are in OBJECT mode and linked to follow the MASTER ROOT object even though it isnt moving.

Any ideas on some setting or checkbox I forgot to click? this is for 3DSMAX 2009.

Thanks in advance for any ideas

SO, if I am correct, you want the feet to stay stuck to the ground when you move your hip controller down, bending your legs?

What you are missing, is something that tells yuor bipeds feet to stay planted, so either press F1 and read about planted keys or create control objects (dummys) for your feet and do this:

select the foot, use biped menu (No Figure mode, just your standard animation mode) ->Key Info-> IK -> Set Key, Set Radio Button to Object, select your dummy, Set Sliding Key.

Now when you move your hip control object, your legs bend and when you move your feet, your hip stays put.

Was that what you were looking for?
