View Full Version : Mocap data into Maya - help getting started

I've inherited a project that has a rigged character that is not setup for receiving mocap data (although I don't know much about the process.)

I suppose I need to get a mocap-ready skeleton into maya and have it drive my character - where do I get a default skeleton for this? Is there such a thing?

Also - is there anyway to get mocap data into maya without having motionbuilder? I would assume the answer is no for bvh, c3d, etc files. But any other options?

Is the final output from motionbuilder FBX? When thats imported does it bring in the whole skeleton? How do you attach that to an existing skeleton in maya? Certainly you don't have to re-attach your mocap skeleton to your characters skeleton every time you import a move?
