hi,

i finally finished modeling my first character. i know it's not a super high poly realism one, but it should work for what I've planned for him.

My Char (unsmoothed):

Now, a video about an animated character. I would like to have a rig that allows me to do those styles of movements. (Run,Jump,Spins etc.)

I watched the 3D Buzz Projects 2 and 3 (Ufo and Mech), and the rigging parts in those videos are everything I know about rigging yet. Unfortunately, I can't use a mechanical rig or a cheap (i hope you know how i mean that :>) alien rig for such movements. I know where to put my joints, but I dont know where a IK Spline or such things are needed. I would also like to know if i can rig my LowRes version and turn it later in a HighRes version (by smoothing the different parts of the model) so that the rig will still work.

If an experienced rigger of you would contact me by PM for MSN/ICQ exchange, it would be awesome.

hey Alpert,

I myself am just in the process of refining my robot rig, i think what you need is just some HI solvers...?
I'll pm you.

i found a good tutorial but i got a problem.

please have a look at this image:

I built a skeleton and added the FBIK Joint Labels. Then, I added a FBIK. But I want the Leg to bend different from what you see in the picture. The knee moves to the left when the LeftFootEff (the one positioned at the ankle) is moved up. But I want it to move up too, just like if you have 3 joints, you add a IK solver from top to bottom and then move the IK solver up. I hope its clear what i mean. Do you know where I can change it, so it works like i want it to?
