Hi,

I just finished my M.A. at the University of applied Sciences Augsburg in Digital Media Applications. During that time I had most fun in doing 2D/3D Games and Shorts. In the end I focused on animation because love to breath live into characters. Unfortunately my University was not specialised in character animation so I had no supervisor and had to learn most of the techniques from books and video tutorials. Now I am looking worldwide for a job in animation. Therefore I created a showreel which shows a small peek of the work I have done so far.

Really awesome stuff! I loved the old man scenes. Everything up until his walk cycle was really well done. I think the walk doesn't have enough side to side and overall body movement to it. The following game animations seem to be a little less polished than your starting stuff, but still cool to see the variety. Nice reel :thumbsup:

Great stuff. One minor crit -- when he reaches for the rope the movement doesn't seem quick enough.

Ill second the cirt of it being good up to the walk cycle. You have good timing and it shows in the opening shot.

I would concentrate on weight. Do some bigger movements and really pay attention to the torso. Allot of the second half of the demo is too poppy. And the weight shift anim leads with the hip, which rarely happens.

And to be honest, the still at the end is awesome. Id remove it, cause it clearly has more polish than your anims, and makes me think that youre better suited for an asset position.

some of the animation feels a lil jerky, besides that the models look great.

First of all, tanks for your critique! I am happy you enjoyed my work!!! I will include your thoughts into my future work and try to push the envelope it a bit more!

Maybe I will polish some of the animations for my unfinished short movie when I've got a bit more experience. The game scenes were my first steps into animation. I didn't want to show just one project in my reel.

About the still I put at the end... I wanted to finish with good impression and show, that I know what other departments have to do. Because of that it's easy for me to communicate with other departments.
