View Full Version : Vehicle: Ford Focus WRC (Game Art)
jacobt 08-04-2003, 02:27 PM Here's my last piece of game art. It's the Ford Focus WRC rally car. It has 6600 polys, 2 512x512 texture sheets (exterior, interior) and 3 256x256 texture sheets (wheels, lights & windows).
The vehicle was made so more than one can be on screen at once, and also for the possibility of a relatively detailed damaged version as well. I'll let you decide whether or not I did a good job.

Really good!
At the moment I'm working on a Ford related game. I'm sure your Focus is as good or even better than the one we use here.
(your lights look at bit dull though...)

Looks great, tho i don't know much about the car itself it seems if the back of the roof is a little square... its prolly just the ledge over the back window playing tricks on my eyes tho.
It would have been nice to see the headlights modelled as well, the texture makes the glass look really fogged over, i assume its normally clear?
Anyway, i think its great, the textures are excellent, especially the dirty ones :D

Thanks, yes I understand that the lights are a little off. The problem with them is that I've modelled the cavity and cover so broken version can be alpha'd in. Couple that with a non self-lit texture and even lighting and you end up with very dull low poly lights.
I will rework those, I am thinking I need to bake the lighting in, then self illuminate and redo the lights inner texture. If any game developers have an idea of how this could be done otherwise please give me a hand to finish this model off. The lights have been a pain :annoyed:
