Hey guys, I'm firing up a sketchbook thread here. Just finished a master copy. This one is Abra, maid of Judith, from Judith beheading Holofernes, a 1599 painting by Caravaggio.

I'm trying out new brushes on Painter. Probably not a good idea - i didn't like these paintings much. The first one came out looking too much like a man, with some glaring anatomical problems I couldn't point out. The second one was a little better, but my incompetence to paint hair destroyed the piece.

As always i'm open to critique and suggestions. I'd be really thankful for advice on using oils in painter.

Fifth head. Portrait of Dante, by Botticelli. Photoshop CS 3.
Been trying new ways to paint, using airbrushes and not so hard brushes.

Last head started from forms and values, no line whatsoever. This one is the complete opposite. This is a statue by David d'Angers, called Sorrow (here (http://www.wga.hu/art/d/david_a/1/01davida.jpg)'s the reference).

50 minutes in photoshop.
