In this tutorial, we’ll take a look at how to create non-photorealistic Cumulus clouds in Blender. These techniques are taken from a Siggraph 2009 paper titled “Painting with Objects”, created by Isaac Botkin (http://www.outside-hollywood.com/siggraph/).

Thanks! It's a really powerful technique for creating all sorts of NPR-styled renders. Be sure to check out the Siggraph link as well. There are plenty of other examples for different ways to apply the technique. I just narrowed the focus down to creating a cloud effect.
