I'm wrinting in English so everybody can get it.

Hi Strong. Nice modelin! But I think she looks a bit african, don't you think? It is correct that in our population we have all kinds of people, but the african mixed with indians, europeans, japaneses etc. So I guess we have our own biotype. Anyway, it's just my opinion. Try using Valéria Valenssa's face, she the perfect example.

Keep up the good work

brazilian regards:beer:

 Good your comment. only leaning that Valéria your bio type was already altered, she doesn't have typical nose of the black race. it was worth for the idea. thank you.

My project is to do a sambista (woman that dances Samba) with very Brazilian seasonings in the style with many colors of the Carnival.
There it is a line of the idea.

Yea... Great work. I like the fact that the face shows character.
Maybe something odd about the eyes, but very subtle.
Keep up the work on detail on the jewlery...

Is this how the costume is actually textured. It sort of reminds me of those chocolates wrapped in tin foil.

But maybe thats what they look like cause I've never seen them!

 You are right in what speaks, it is really something painted or covered with laminated paper, I try to do to understand that was painted in rough surface.
The material used it is usually recycled, in Brazil the Carnival is not HiTec!

Hey 3D STRONG, that´s really a small world, isn´t it? I was criticize a guy here just after you. I enjoy very much the coincidence.

About the woman??? Come on, man! She´s great! I specially like the lips, when I look at the lips I say: "She´s brazilian and she´s beautifull!"

:p :p There it is the application of the hair. the idea is to do a hair implanted rasta (artificial), as they make black many in Brazil. the hair were modeled with Loft and Material Shag.

can we get a perspective?

Hello 3D Strong!
I too think that her gaze is a bit strange. The reason i think is the position of her eyeballs. You could try and rotate them a bit downward, so that there is no white visible between the iris and the lower lid.

(and i liked her better wihout the extra hair, but that´s just my personal taste)

greetings

Ok guys there is easier ways of saying certain things and yes she does look like she is a little drugged up. I think it has to do with around her lips looks like they are pursed up, and roll her eyes down a tiny bit they are sitting a little high, i don't mean the skin part. I mean her actual eyes.

I think that biggest issue that I have is that she's an ugly chick. Its a good model. This is just my opinion. I think her features are all very masculine. So I guess she's not plesant to look at. Its not a bad thing I would just personally choose to soften up the detail.

Mescalito256
08-31-2003, 01:46 AM
Wether you think she is beatifull or not is a matter of personal prefference. (I don't think Pamela Anderson is attractive even though all my friends think she is really hot.) My point is that this is a really good model regardless, I have even met women with very simillar features. :)

A few subtle changes in the lighting might go a long way to soften her features.

Keep up the good work, it's nice to see a fellow brazillian with such talent.

it's coming along nicely buddy!!it's too late but what can i do??i just saw your thread:shrug: the form is good but i hope you're not animating her;the edge loops are totally wrong......the costume shaders could be improve, adn you should model her shoulders too(it looks strange from that angle);another thing that caught my attention is that her eyes aren't totally brown (and they should be,since you wanna make a originally black girl). these are my crits

the bump map is really good, how did you do it??

see ya man

08-31-2003, 03:41 AM
>>>the form is good but i hope you're not animating her;the edge loops are totally wrong......

Could you elaborate on that topic?

Man
08-31-2003, 05:01 AM
if he's going to animate it in a way that the muscles will move correctly he's in trouble....the basic loops, like the one that comes from the upper part of the nose (i don't know the name....above the "nose holes"...) or extra edges near the eyebrows and on the forehead doesn't exist , that's what i'm sayin' he made the head in a nice way but he didn't respected the edge loops, that's all...

So he has more geometry in those places than needed? It seems like it would be more or less a problem depending on how you were going to animate it otherwise albeit a little dense his topology seem to follow the correct muscles directions.

Man
08-31-2003, 05:22 AM
yeah thats's what i'm sayin!!if he's going to animate it in a way that all the muscles will wrinkle he's going to have a little hard time, that's it.

:applause: God! it is good when our work is criticized in a constructive way. I tried very fast (anxiety) to move forward and it was not really profitable. I will make alterations suggested for improvements my work. after all...that is a WIP!! :wip: :wip:

very nice, pity she got uglier as it progressed, i prefered b4 the hair and , or in a ponytail?
and before you swaured of the end of the nose.
good luck with the edgelops, its fine if your not animating her tho . i think a nice hdri sss render would make this a superb piece , dont right,

:wip: Proportions inside of the pattern more used for women...I say that this body is in evolution phase!

Great work so far! I can see that the body low poly is great making a light mesh to work in the future animation, are you going to make it move anyways? if so, you should pay atention to what people said 'bout the edge loopings on her face... well only crit is that there's some sort of a hard edge where the neck connects to her body, you can see it better from the side view, that one in the middle of the red background image. From that image i can see that her deltoid is a little big, but she might be a hard worker, as most brazilian black women. Her hands look like that she is... once again, pretty good work.

:wip: :wip: Now I am beginning the modelling and placement of the clothes in the same style of the beginning of WIP.
All the remaining of the costume will be in the green colors and it yellows. only in the end I will make the texture of the remaining of the body, because the head's texture is already ready.:wip:

This is a really good model , sure she may not be very pretty but then again not all women are , but i do agree that she is a bit to masculine , especially that big nose
The body looks good but i would work on the knee area a bit more, it doesen't look right, great ass though
And i really like your textures ,especially on the face , how big are those textures? maybe you could show them to us ( i know i could learn a lot from them)

keep going

Wow, that looks good, the body is looking great! I like the legs a lot. They fit well with this kind of girl.
I think the skin is a bit too shiny overall and the skin should be lighter on the underside of the hands. The nipples looks too small to me. More accessories would be cool too.

Good work, keep it up!

maybe you have to work again on her smile, what do you think?

great work - she really has the samba feeling

but you should work on her smile - her face is to symetrical
also her shoulders seem too wide - the upper body / shoulders look a bit masculine

hey man, good work, real good work! sorry i saw this thread so late. my comments refer to some older parts of your work but they still might hold true!

1) i saw early in your work that you had painted in highlights on the skin texture itself. Unless you're making a low poly model meant for a game or something, highlights and all those other environment-specific should be left to the renderer. For photo-realistic production, you want your textures to maintain uniform lighting at all points on the texture i.e. the texture should be coloration and surface deformation (bumps) only.

2) Having trouble seeing what's going on with the lighting details on some of the models but it looks like you're using specular calculations from pointal lights. I strongly discourage this. Specular highlights are an old way of faking reflections from light sources. If you want your model to look like a photo, you need to raytrace reflections from physical models of lights in your scene. (this is going to be to create much longer render times, but that's what you get with more accurate results).

Essentially, what i'm saying is that those highlights you see on the bridge of a person's nose or on their bottom lip are reflections from the lights in their environment and that is precisely how you should be handling them in your renders.

To elaborate, you might ask "well why do the reflections always seem to show up more on specific parts of the face". Answer: those parts of the face are simply shinier/more reflective! You should drop a map in the reflection slot of your material that indicates areas of higher reflectivity and areas of lower reflectivity. I'm pretty sure you can do the same thing for glossiness to get areas of sharper reflections and areas of duller reflections!

again, real good work!

well i have to say you did an over all good job on the entire thing, but as a whole i think she has a strong likeness to Martin Larwence dressed up in drag,it realy frightened me. But thats only me and my opinion which doesnt realy matter.I would also suggest softer temperatured colors in the future.

I agree that she somehow got more masculine as she progressed. Very symmetrical, almost unsettling face, and her expression doesn't lead me to believe that she's feeling very festive... more like she's a little scared, but pretending to be happy. And I don't think nipples are usually that small or pointy, especially on a fully developed woman.

I was super impressed by the earlier, pre-hair renders, though!
