Hey guys,

I just graduated from Sheridan College, Computer Animation program this year and yet I`m still working on my portfolio. This is my first year learning 3d; I always wanted to work on game cinematics (:
Anyways this is my demo reel of this year, I hope you guys will like it.
Comments and crits highly appreciated.

Cheers!

Love your models and presentation. Very nice work indeed.

My crit: lose the animation. Its functional, and works for what it is. But its not your strength. It feels a little pokey, and has some weight issues. Id show more turntables, and maybe animate them for the turntable, if your itching to keyframe.

Awesome student work, and best of luck on the job search.

Good stuff.

I agree with Abazaba. Loose the animation and focus on the modeling. YOur modeling skills are quite good. The animation part is distracting and not at the same level as the rest of the reel.
Regarding the modeling. For the first piece I would work more on the texturing. Specially the diffuse and the spec. They seem to even and kinda dull.
For the girl, very good work. I like it a lot. Maybe adding more detail on the textures.
For the rock guy I would say the same.

your modeling skills are very good but in my opinion I think you can push your texturing skills further.

Cheers and good luck!

While I think the animation is pretty good, I think creating 2 separate reels depending upon the position you are applying for would be prudent. If you are applying for a modeling position, submit your best models and wire-frames, if you are applying for an animation position, show a few of your best animated shots.

Great compositing effort though, the overall reel looks pretty slick.
Cheers,

I liked it. Nothing popped out at me as being bad. Short and sweet.
