I really like the old man, the render looks good - nice rim lighting and the skin looks very warm.

I'm not so keen on the first image, although I think that's down to the model more than the lighting. It looks too sharp around his details (mouth, nose) for my taste and his eyes are very very bright/reflective for that subdued scene. But having said that there are areas (such as round the eyebrows) that look really nice.

The girl looks great! I love her style, the nose is maybe just a tad too 'pinched' for me, but it works. Her skin looks great as well - really nice and soft. :D

The first model, as you mention, isn't as good as I wanted it to be, primary because of the texture and model quality.

I'm posting a few updates on the girl character shortly, still working on the body of the character.

I've been working a lot with lightning lately, and wanted to see if i'm getting somewhere with it.

I was searching for lightning until I finaly realised you actualy ment l-i-g-h-t-i-n-g .great lighting!! like the second pic:applause:

Hmm those are very nice works.. wonder why is it lacking comments...

anyway i giving my 1 cent worth of opinion:
her breast seems wat to apart? and it seems long... maybe tweak the top part more to eh center.. instead of leaving the center portion so blank/flat.

by the way, she only have 4 fingers? guess that's cartoon style ? :p

hard to give you great crits now, it looks good already.
a few small ones though,
the line in the center between her breasts, it starts to far up, that line is great if she's wearing tight clothes, so I would keep it. but it usually starts from under the sternum(where the bigcage ends)

hands look a little flat, hard to tell from that small render.. and the wrist seems to be attached at the middle of the palm.. if you could give a few screenshoot closeups of the hands, I could try to crit more.. or if you want it like this, keep it ofcourse.

try to give her another finger to, personal taste maybe. cartoons with 4 fingers are great though, they can look great on some characters. but girls like this.. just need 5 fingers imo.

well, just nitpicks. overall, the character looks great!

also I still think that the middle row of points at the sternum area(between the breasts) shall be pushed out a little. so that area becomes flat or a little rounded, and not "go in" like now.

and I would add toes, or socks? just make the color there white or something would be enough.. but it can be a matter of style.

still I like her alot, very nice character!

The lighting is very good. What kind of rendering is that ?
Any word about your light setup ? On what app btw ?
I like the little girl, but now, I think you should make her breast smaller and less sharp, IMHO they are too round for her age.

Thanx a lot - that was the kind of suggestions i was looking for. It proved very useful making adjustments on the model. I'm posting an update shortly.. Thanx :thumbsup:

Hi! Thanxs - I'm using 3d studio max. The lightning was achived
with a 3 point lightning setup + a dome light (elight). I also added
a few fillights for atmosphere.

I'll post the whole scene when it's finished ;)
