View Full Version : please help me, something is crashing my scene!!!
Hi, i am currently working on a scene here in work, our time frame does not permit me to go through the objects 1 by one right now, and this is how i generally solve a fatal object problem (merge 1 by 1 until object is detected)..
Anyway, i have a scene, and the scene is faulty, it keeps crashing after a certain number operations, or when all objects are suddenly turned on..... stuff like that.... so, any ideas as to what might be causing it, or is it possible to actually analise a scene in max, so i could detect the fatal object or plugin ??
cheers,
Adrian

i think people are hesitant to answer questions about max crashing b/c it could be alot of things, how large is the scene? what kind of machine are u working on? have u tried reinstalling?

Good luck,

I work on a dual pentium Xeon (1gig i think) with a gig of ram, and an elsa gloria III, so, em, i do not think its the machine...hahaha
I eventually found that it was the camera that was crashing my scene, yeah, really, the bloody camera.... the reason (i think) is that after modelling and texturing and setting up the cameras for the scene, i needed to composite it into another scene, and rotate it, so i selected everything except the footpath, and linked these objects to the footpath... i then needed to move the footpath a tad, so i selected everything and broke the link.... cameras don't seem to like having a link broken......
