New Something -- WIP

Looks interesting. I know it's a WIP but you might want to work on the lighting a bit. Still, has lots of potential. I see it as an engine for some sort of craft. -- 3d_e

Thanks :), yeah the lighting needs alot of work its a one point omni set up :P. It was getting late and I didnt want to set up a three point or anything too complex. Since I like the direction this could take I think I'm going to hold off a bit until I see what the new chalenge is before I go any further with the concept I have in my head.

BTW, does anyone know when the new challenge is going to start? I looked over at the challenge site but couldnt find anything.

Thanks Adam (hey thats my name too :)), I started making a jet engine type thing and the realized I didnt know what that would look like so I made it electric lol. Ummm... I know I said I was going to wait for the challenge, but screw it who knows when that will be up, I wanna model now :).

here's a little update, I've started putting some plating on the outside. WHoops I just realized that I forgot to fix the lighting :P, oh well next time...

brammelo, I dunno if that would be a good Idea, it would almost be as big as a human and as powerfull as a jet engine. Plus the whole exposed blade thing probally wouldnt be good either lol.

Well I decided not to enter the challenge so here is a little update on the engine.

Well not exactly hyper drive, more like just a jet powered engine for a flying motorcycle that a robo guy I'm making will ride.

I was talking about the classic challenge here at CgTalk, because I don’t have enough expertise in human anatomy to deform it convincingly :P.

Here’s another update, the robo guy who will be riding the cycle. Its Squidinc inspired because I really like his work...

*edit* I should have said sooner that the thing in front of hi face is a marble. Its part of the story, Ill explian it later, but i probally will never get around to making it into a short film lol.

very dark IMO. this is just the intro, right ? I like
the blending at the end. A good point to bring in
a cool breakbeat or such. What do you use for the sounds?
I play guitar and make some music with Cakewalks Sonar.

Yep its just the intro, I used bell noises, a phone lol, my leaky sink, an electric organ, my voice, and some heavy editing. I tried to make it pretty dark, I wanted to portray the feeling of emtynesss and expanse. The progs I use are sound forge, fruity loops, Cakewalk :), and some funky stuff I dont rember the name of. My freinds are heavy into music so I use their stuff mostly, when I bring the stuff to my comp I only have freeware ad demos to work with. I dont play an instument, but I have an iherant ability to play the keyboard, although I only have an electric organ lol... Ive been thinking of getting a guitar too. Ive been eyeing the Ibanez GRX20 pretty hard :), but I have to wait till I can get some extra cash.

Heres an update on the engines, I will keep you guys posted on the music as soon as my freinds leave and I can screw around on their computers lol :).
