CGTalk - NURBS toolbox (chamfer)

View Full Version : NURBS toolbox (chamfer) - not working

How on earth is the NURBS toolbox supposed to work. I have tried the following with two curves and on the same curve (both opened and closed). I click the chamfer option on the NURBS toolbox whilst in modify mode and then click on the selceted curve. The curve turns blue and a small square appears on the curve below the mouse cursor. I then try and drag a dotted line to somewhere else (anywhere else) and cannot get anything to happen (I would like to have a straight line between two points).

What's up with that?

Two things - you must make sure that both curves are coplanar and secondly, you must make sure that they are both part of the same NURBS object (not two seperate objects) - i.e, attach them.

Aside from that I can't think why it isn't working.

Oh and the obligatory comment on all NURBS threads : Max's NURBS are evil. (And by evil I mean crap).

and by crap he means your better off modeling with a plie of elastic bands....use rhino :)
