Hey everyone. I have been using maya for awhile now. My new project is rigging a character in max. I got everything set up and I am having a problem with my x,y,z values in the timeline. After watching the cgacademy dvds on rigging; I did the freeze transformations on my controller objects. In the motions tab, the values are zeroed out, however, on my main timeline, the original values for the controller are still there. In the dvds, his timeline is always at zero, as soon as he selects his object, they are at zero. My question is this: How do I get my values on my timeline zeroed out, is it a script that I need, is it something in my preferences, any help would be greatly appreciated.

those values show the transform of the current selected object in the current space transform system (view, world, local, parent...). by default the view transform system is selected and that show the transform of the object in respect to the selected view space. if you select the local space transform system it will show the values always in zero (like the video that you saw) but that s not the value of the zeroed controller, if you put a value there the object will transform with its active controller but the values shown there will still be zero. There is no way to see the values of the active controller (the one that was zeroed) in those spinners. the only way is using a script or plugin, paul neal has one if you need to do so :http://paulneale.com/scripts/activeTransformEditor/activeTransformEditor.htm. It wont show the values in the transform spinners that are below the timeline, it will open a dialog box instead. bye

Thanks for explaining. Now, I downloaded and installed the plugin. It's not working and it brings up a dialog box with the code in it. I don't think it works for max 2010.
