if I want to animate an IK chain with a control object,
I would parent constrain my control objects
null group to the IK handles null group, Is this right? And also, do you place
keyframes on the null group of the control object or the actual control object itself?

Hi
You have to parent constraint the IK Handle to the control object and key on the controller itself.

Thanks for the response,

But I've heard from a few different sources thats its better to put the constraint nodes
on the null group, leaving the IK handle free from incoming connections.

As far as my (brief) experience goes, it does not make any difference at all. That said though, if you are more comfortable with parenting your IK handles and containing this parent to a controller, I don't see any reason why I shouldn't do this. There should be no performance issue involved in this extra parenting.

Cheers,
Daniel
