CGTalk - tumble view messed up

Regards all,

I seem to have messed up my tumble view in the persp viewport. Intead of tumbling around the center of interest the Alt-LMB tumble tool sems to rotate around the global axis. I dont know where to look to fix this I tried restarting with new preferences but it makes no change. Any ideas?
