View Full Version : stillife: cocktailshaker and glass
tonfarben 08-02-2003, 07:16 PM Here a scene I made with Cinema4d.
No global illumination, caustics and stuff, just simple threepoint lighting.
rendered in ca 5 to 10 minutes depending to the machine.
Hope you like it! Bye!

Great athmosphere there. I like the 'feeling' of this image. Kinda looks like some illustration, and some high tech art deco impression can be found there too...
But the thing that sells this image, are certainly the waterdrips arount the shaker.
Nice job!

Thanks for replying. The atmosphere you described intended to be there, so the goal of the image seems to be fullfilled, thanx!

Hi!
beautiful image. I have 1 comment though. Considering how the objects both sit in the one space, the shadows on the shaker is oddly very much darker. That is all. Very nice.

yeah, but that makes sense though since the glass is transparent and the shaker isn't. Or am I missing anything?
nice job there

@ wahaha
yeah, you can always do it better, but, what can I do better here?
OK, the specular highlight is blue, too much blue I think (at the glass)
The glass could be more transparent like said in another forum.
But, did you mean that? Or do I miss something else?
To the others, thanx for your comments and compliments!:)

Breath taking! It's a stunning style that you've come up with. Really quite impressive. Illustration-esque, sorta-art-deco... Wow!
My favorite points are the beautiful colour gradient from background to foreground, the reflection of the objects fading away as they get farther into the white, the little drops of water to the right, and most importantly, the overall rendering of the glass and shaker.
Criticisms? I'm not sure about the colour of the composition, and the typography stinks, but honestly I'm nit-picking. You've done a great job!
I'd second the others above who are interested in some insight into the technical details behind your style.
