Hey Blenderites,
I thought I would give the new Blender 2.5 a try so I downloaded one of the latest blender builds from the Graphicall site to see what the new Blender interface is like. So, I downloaded the 22292 and 22057 svn builds which are windows versions as I am on a Winxp computer(32bit) and when I try and run the blender.exe file I get an error message.

The error message states " Blender.exe- Application error. The application failed to initialize properly(0xc0150002) etc....." then I terminate the program.

My question is what am I doing wrong. Do I need python installed/updated?

Anyone knows whats going on here?

Thanks,

fktt

do you have the MS visual c++ redistributable runtime library installed?

32bit version: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=A5C84275-3B97-4AB7-A40D-3802B2AF5FC2&displaylang=en

64bit version: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=BA9257CA-337F-4B40-8C14-157CFDFFEE4E&displaylang=en

many programs these days need one of the two to run. :)

sorry for the doublepost but thought I'd let you know,
it seems there was a crash bug in rev. 22314 according to dingto:

The crasher i described is another story, what he describes is really a runtime error. Install the Runtime and it should work fine.

Dingto,

By the " install the Runtime" you mean the Microsoft download that fktt linked too in the above post?

Thanks
