Hello
I am kinda new to XSI and I am trying to figure something out.
I got this tutorial from 3Dcreative "Bugatti Veyron" and the third step it says:

Open a new scene in XSI. First make Grids (Model Module > Get > Primitive > Polygon mesh) with the right scale you need, and put the blueprints onto them as textures (Fig03).
It's worth re-sizing the grinds to the size of the blueprints.

See attached image for Fig03

so, as for the question, how do I apply the texture to the grid?
I am sorry, I am sure this is really easy question but any help will be appreciated.

I wouldn't solve this particular problem with textured grids at all. You might want to use so-called rotoscopes.
You'll find more info in the XSIDocs under "Interface and Tools > Rotoscopy > Basics of Rotoscopy" and "Interface and Tools > Rotoscopy > Rotoscopy Tips" ;)

rotoscope doesn't change image and all if you change the camera around by using the ortho shortcuts, and needs to be set-up individually per cam per view.

Textured grids still have their place for industrial modelling.\
As for how to get them, go in the render panel with the shortcut 3 (on xsi keymap) and have a look in there, when a command/property page looks interesting don't forget to hit F1 or click the question mark in the corner, that will normally help answering questions (althoguh I know the icon might mis-lead people into thinking that you are asked a random question when you click it).
