How can I make over a gf4200 over to a quadro? Will the speed get that much faster and will maxtreme work with it??

There is an application available called Soft Quadro which makes the computer see a GeForce 4 card as a Quadro 4. You then should be able to install and use Maxtreme.

Your speed will not change much if at all. What you will be able to do is get better view-port performance and detail within 3DS Max.

Simply do a search on Google for "soft quadro" and you should find the site with the downloads. Just be sure to read all the info about it and what it can/cannot do for you. It might not be worth the trouble.

You can find the "softquadro" script plus an application called
Rivatuner that will run softquadro script at:

www.nvworld.ru

you can find also an article about turning games accelerators
to professional accelerators.

the program "rivatuner" contains the relavent scripts and utilities you need to do the software modification.

i seriously recommend you read the FAQ start to finish before attempting the modification:
http://content.guru3d.com/index.php?page=rivatunerfaq

rivatuner is written by "unwinder" who's homepage is at nvrowld.ru (linked above). guru3d.com is an official mirror for rivatuner/softquadro and all of the FAQs and help sections. browse both websites in detail before jumping in head first.

and yes, maxtreme can be installed with the modification. be warned however, that i have had some bad experiences with maxtreme ontop of softquadro. for some systems it'll work flawlessly, and on others it will die miserably. make sure if you do go ahead with the modification you don't do it on a system that you rely on for earning your income.
