Hi
I am new to this forum so I hope this is the right place to post.
I wonder if someone can lead me in the right direction,
I have imported DAZ M4 and V4 into maya (model+skinned skeleton) and I want to add an animation rig to it. It needs to have basically the same animation control features as this one :
"Character Animation Rig for Generating Animations by Hand"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=US&feature=related&v=e_nPLjCnz2A
I am new to rigging and have looked at many tutorials, but what I really need is an actual example rig that I can load in maya. Then I can really see the internal structure.
The crucial things I need are :
- Isolated hip and shoulder controls like in the video where the hips can rotate but the shoulders do not move. The DAZ rig seems to have non standard shoulders, so I am struggling to apply the tutorials I have seen.
- The hand target, like in the video. my couple is dancing the waltz so hand of the girl needs to follow to the shoulder of the guy automatically.
- Heal and toe pivoting like in the video. I have seen a good tutorial on this ( http://www.swinburne.edu.au/design/tutorials/maya/rigging-biped-advanced-maya-tutorial/P8/ ) but the DAZ skeleton is missing the toe bone, and I don't know the best way to deal with this. I want to be able to copy animation from one DAZ character later so I am not sure if adding bones will mess it up.
Maybe a helpful soul out there has a DAZ skeleton already rigged in maya that they would not mind sharing/selling to me.
That would be a very amazing thing.
Cheers,
Mark
