Hi everyone, thought to share what I'm currently working on, and hopefully get some opinions on how good/bad the model is etc.
A few words on the model itself:
The goal for the model was to portray a semi-organic alien design; the race for which it is made combines ordinary technology with organic components, mainly bioengineered lifeforms (or parts of) integrated with the hardware.
The cruiser is supposed to consist of a mechanical frame+habitation pod and an organic "fleshy" spheroid suspended by organic tendrils from the frame. Ingame the unit will be used as a sort of "interdictor", with visual representation of "gravity waves" emanating from the sphere, and the ability to fire a tractor beam to imobilize specific targets.
The race emphasizes technological prowess, but is meant to be rather slow, hence the engine nozzles should be somewhat underplayed.
Here are the wireframe shots of the mesh:

Next is UV mapping and then exporting to Zbrush for texturing.
