After reading the list of new features coming in 3ds max 6 i wondered if anyone new of a plug in for max 5 that can create the metaball effect. I am trying to morph a sword into liquid...

(I'll leave it to u to guess why i want this)

I don't see how you could morph a sword into liquid using clay studio.
The technique depends on what you want to show. But always some good postproduction can save a lot of time.

Ugh.
Maybe a BBomp space warp and some Water, Fire and Smoke Effects Using Particles and Opacity Maps (http://www.neilblevins.com/cg_education/water_fire_smoke/water_fire_smoke.htm) tossed in...?

Not sure 'bout using metaballs. It would be cool, but problems. If you can model the sword with metaballs, then you are all set. Doubt you can use Morpher, but I believe Digimation makes a morphing plug where the vert count and numbering doesn't have to be the same.
