hi everyone,
here is a shot i did in maya using a script i wrote recently... well what it basically does is, it creates particle grid according to the scale of a selected plane, then it takes the color from the image texture applied onto the plane and gets displaced according to the greyscale value of the image texture applied, creating a 3d look..

cool! one question, this works with the translateY or use normals to get the direction? I mean, you can use a sphere or just planes.

thanks a lot.. right now it works only with the plane .. but in another 2 or 3 days i think i should be done with it taking other shapes too.. actually just figured it out day before yesterday how to achieve it.. cheers
