very nice.
just found the diagonal shading lines on the nose distracting. perhaps they should follow the contours of the nose better?

Nice! The progress series as well. Strange I just mentioned Plympton in another thread, but the cross-shading on the nose reminds me of that style. Anyway, retreating back to 3d-land, envious of those who draw well :)
On a side note, that guy totally looks like Hayden Christensen. Maybe it's just me tho, I just got back from seeing episode 2 and he's on the brain :)

The diagonal shading on the nos was sort of an afterthought. I wanted to get a highlight in there. Fortunately I can erase that mess and shade it in more nicely.
Hayden Christensen? Anakin Skywalker? Heh...I guess I let his type slip enough to look like him. The goal of course being to make it actually look like the model. I'll post a photo of the model once I can get it from my friends digital camera.
Very nice drawing!
One thing.....
The head has some harsh outlines around it! erase them for a more life like look ;) Its a mistake allot of people make
Keep takeing them classes!

I though about reworking it a little..then realized..it's not supposed to be a final final piece...so..I'll keep in mind the harsh outlines or..not having any...tip for the next one I do.

A little 20 minute drawing of a young Sean Astin from Goonies.
It's sort of his type..but off some.
This is from the scene when he's telling the other Goonies about One Eyed Willie up in the attic.
I have the letterbox version fo the DVD and the scene was framed with the top of his head cut off....rather than risk inventing it, I left it as is.
The lips are off some.

I think I'll stay away from drawing children for awhile..they're quite a bit harder to draw...since the bone structure hasn't fully developed.

I disagree about the "harsh lines". They've got some nice weight and varied strength. It's a drawing, not a photograph right? I also like the "nose lines". Just a personal thing, but little quirks like this make a drawing interesting for me, as long as they're not overstated. Ace stuff, Tmguire.

I think the lines look pretty faithfull to the lighting that is being used in the scene. I can't see anything to disagree over :)
