I have a scene with a few objects that need to be affected by HDRI image based lighting, but another object that comes into contact with those object on which I do not want HDRI lighting. Not only that, but I need those HDRI-affected objects to cast shadows onto the non-HDRI affected objects. Lighting is not my strength, so if anyone has any ideas on an efficient way to accomplish this, I would really appreciate it.

hi, you can try rendering that hdri excluded geometry alone in another render layer which has hdri IBL disabled, make sure the option is layer overridden (it shows up in orange text after that), and also render out a separate shadow pass which you can composite with later on.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll try it out as soon as I get the chance.

I believe you can light-link the IBL sphere, no?
