hi all,

ain't it possible to edit the default settings for a project's file locations and paths in general?

i mean, there's 'edit current' on the projects tab, but i want to specify custom paths, so when i click 'use default' in the following dialogue, i will not have to edit those values by hand every time to fit my infrastructure.

there must be a setting somewhere, eh? :shrug:

in your maya installed directory check the mel files in /scipts/others:

createDefaultProject.mel
and
projectSetup.mel

in there you should be able to change the default behaviour

well, i found the correct entries inside the scripts but changing those doesn't change the defaults somehow! :shrug:

i have changed my default IPR location in both those files and it works perfectly..

be sure not to forget to restart maya!

hmmm...i don't know where to replace what string in 'projectSetup.mel', there's lots of lines containing 'images'...:hmm:
