Hmmm....looks to me like it is the same character.
Anyway, the "dark-figure" render is so dark that it is hard to see.

But dude, fix his eyes, he looks retarded.
How about some other poses? It has been the same pose in all the posts, if i remember correctly.

yeah I dunno what your trying to acheive by placing the eyes like that as it is totally the opposite of intimidating. He looks too cross eyed. http://216.40.249.192/s/cwm/3dlil/errr.gif

Great work. The character looks very similar to the original. One big problem is the lightining in the first picture, itīs horrible.
But details like the hand texture gives a little bit of reality for manga characters. The eyes are not really a problem, itīs very usual in Manga draws have a comedy look. Good work, but improve you light and the pants dont look a sof fabric.
