View Full Version : vehicle: my 2 gts cars,...
sabaman 08-01-2003, 09:37 AM these are my 2 gt cars, the first one is heavily inspired by the jaguar xj220 and the 2nd one has some mclaren in the front so im not saying theyre original at all,
also, the cars have very basic interior, nothing too special,
some might have seen this one in the post your vehicle thread,

As always, your designs kick ass, and your renders are fantastic. Great job :buttrock: .
where is my cheek?..WERE IS MY CHEEK???...I lost it somewhere on the ground.
WOOOOOOW...these models are very awesome...and they ARE original IMO.
You are one great auto designer...damn!
Wish I could model only a quarter of that quality.
Great work man...show us more...

Both very nice models, but I think you need to turn your HDRI illumination down a bit. It's blowing out really badly on some shots and distracts from what are really excellent models
the models are pretty sweet, although the 30+ grills on each car make them look like cheese graters :( but awesome design in general

thanks alot guys,
playmesumch00ns, well, the thing is, i didnt want to be changing the settings on every render, i wanted 1 setting, that gave descent results in all of em you know, it does ruin some parts in some angles i know, but ah well,...
l7d, hmmm, well, thas just what i like, cant help it,
again, thanks all for the comments,...

you might need to change the types of headlights. in many states headlights must be 22 inches above ground. other than that, wonderful cars!

I am impressed by this work but I do not understand one thing. I have seen many nice renderings of models created in Rhino. I use Rhino but not Max and know Rhino's rendering is not up to Max or Lightwave. Do people really spend $3500 for max just to use it for rendering?. Is the Max modeler that bad?

Most people I know don't buy the programs but download it instead.
As long as your don;t make money by your downloaded software I think it's a great way to learn your software.

i made a sort of garage a while ago, nothing much but this is just for the people that allways want to see an environment or scene, its kind of grainy but the render times was killing me,...

hey thanks guys,
you know, about the scene, i dont like it at all, its just that i put alot of time in that environment (i suck at environments) that when i pressed the render button, all i thought about was the hard work, took me a few hours to see howmuch it sucked,...

sabaman,
Great work man but there are a few polys that need to be fixed :banghead: and you are on your way to a great model, Here are the areas that I've picked up that you should take a look at (remember this is for your benefit). Anywhere there is a red circle with arrows is an area that should be revised.

and

Also the fin on the first car might need to be looked at. Just my 2 cents.
I will be posting my old WWII truck in a few weeks and I want the same kind of help.

hey guys, thanks alot for the positive feedback,
guruabyss, yes some parts are choppy, but that was just the rhino export, i tried to keep it as low poly (in rhino terms still extremely high) the 2 smoothing problems you pointed out are actually the gi samples being too low, but ofcourse i kept that low because i dont want the render time to be high,
well, here are the wire frames,

if i didnt know you and that you modeled that one i would say that your 'bot' was a real car in that military scenario. you really have the gift to do this kind of things. i'm still thinking that you should go out there and find a car manufacturer like Pininfarina, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Edonis, Hispano-Suiza,... and become a true concept designer - one of the best, the best of the best.
keep going man, you got future here and dont 'lose yourself' by denying it... :applause::applause::applause:
