I've a mesh created in 3ds max 2009 and exported in .obj format to import in mud 2009.
importing or opening this file, mud freeze at 99% of the process (opening tc bounds) ad my file paging assume a large size.
repeating the experiment whit the dear old mud 1 there are no problem...
this is not the fist time mud 2009 create me this kind of error...can someone help me?need to post the mesh?

Could be UVs overlapping the edge of UV space. Make sure they're all contained within one UV tile.

probably the uv's overlap the uv [1,1] space...I'll try to desize them but, at this time, I was shure that uv's need only for the exporting map stage.

It isn't necessarily that, but it's always something to check when things go wrong. Mud seems a bit sensitive to UV problems.
If you don't want to have to make proper UVs, then either just do a planar map over the whole object, making sure to scale the gizmo up so that it doesn't touch the sides, or uncheck the option for UVs in the OBJ exporter dialog. That should work too.

As well as checking your UV's also run the STL check modifier in 3d max.

I solved zooming coordinates in to the [1,1] space, many tanks for support.
effectly mud 2009 is very sensitive to strange uv's, I will remember this...tnx again.
