View Full Version : Texture Atlas
mgkaplan 08-01-2009, 12:13 AM Has anyone come across any scripts or tools that allow photoshop to generate a texture atlas from a series of files? Nvidia has a tool to create a texture atlas but it outputs a .dds file and I need mine in .png. I was hoping that I could simply convert the .dds file to a .png, but it would seem that the alpha channel is not saved in their tool. I'm just looking for something to take a series of images and place them all in the same file in a grid pattern. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey, I'm working on a series of photoshop javascripts and actions for us digital artists. I'm sure I can fill a psd document with a grid of images, and photoshop has a save function in their methods for png but I'm not sure what a DDS is.
What's a DDS? I'm a matte painter, sounds like DDS is a little more texture/3d based so that's probably why I've never heard of it.

Matt, I just looked at your Utah page. You are certainly smart enough to probably handle this yourself. Lookup Photoshop Javascript reference. It's a PDF. Checkout page 63 for info on how to create a grid. Best of luck!
