View Full Version : Character: Female Face
fellah 08-01-2003, 02:53 AM hi everyone,
here's a girl I've been working on the last couple of days days.. not really my cup of tea, but it was fun. and I've learned alot so far.
http://www.fellah.net/temp/Fellah_WomanFace1.jpg
softwares:
Lightwave for modeling,
Photoshop for textures, and hair(painted in PS. cheater, I know ;) might do it in 3d someday soon, when I have time and motivation)
well, I don't consider anything I do finished, so if you find things that you dislike or think can be improved, please don't hesitate to tell,
thanks

Good work, very real look....
I am afraid that she reminds me to Lina Morgan in her best times
I agree with the cross eyed.
it might be because the right eye was scaled up to create some unsimetrical effect.the eyeball is kinda too big on the right so maybe that kinda makes it closer?
But its a great pic even tho the hair was painted on
I would ask more angles but the hair is painted:shrug: ..
so I'll say it's a very realistic image fellah, the smile looks natural and that's great:buttrock:
nice to see you work in other fields than cartoon.
cheers

thanks all,
I updated the picture above in my first post.
I tried to fix the crosseyes(if you still think it looks weird, please tell.. the changes are so subtle, one vertex wrong and.. can be hard to tell)
also after 'Johnny Cannuck's hook' comparision with Julia Roberts in 'Hook', I gave her a tint of purple on the hair. and a forest BG, helped to bring out the face a little imo. but if it was a bad choice, please tell.
you can find the old(first) version here, to compare:

Johnny Cannuck,
mmm, Julia Roberts.. :) I didnt use any refs for this model, except to check for anatomy. but I've heard from others that she has a tad of the Julia Roberts look, which imo ain't bad at all

yes, I would like to show more angles, maybe I will. but I really wanna add the hair first, a girl without hair is like.. biark :)
if anyone know a good technique for hair, please share your knowledge, or a link :)
thanks

You know, the model is very well done..i think she looks cross-eyes because of her smile, it throws off everything IMO. Its like, a retarded (for lack of better words and no offense to anyone) smile...? Maybe its just me. Great model though, realism is bang on!!

It looks crosseyed because she is
If you look at the whites of her eyes on the left of the right eye pupil
its narrower than the white on the left, Its either because the pupil is too much to the left or the shadow of the eye lid makes it look like its too small

thanks all for your crits and comments,
I will take care of the crosseyes in a few days, and a few more expressions that hopefully will get better than this one.. and I'll try to add real 3dhair to.
Shin Chan Pu heheh, I only find pictures of an old lady when I search for "Lina Morgan". I will do a few other searches later, wanna see if they look alike :)
