At work I’m using max 5 and duel display,

And I want to display the view ports on my primary display and toolbars etc on the other display, e.g. the control panel.

But for some reason it only works one way round so if the right hand screen is primary and the left secondary it doesn’t work!! BUT if i swap them so the left is primary and the right is secondary it works fine!!!

This is baffling as hell!!

And the screens must be this way round to make the most of them and my desk space..

Does anyone know any scripts of have any suggestions on this how to fix it r what it is????

If this doesn’t make sense please let me know and I will draw a diagram :)

Also i am using :

radeon 9700 pro 128
nec 1880sx tft (using radeon dvi out)
iyama visionmaster 450 pro crt (on analog)

if this makes any difference??

Cheers

did you know you can drag the screens around on the area where you see the 1 & 2 in the boxes? maybe you have them the wrong way around for your set up..? anyway you still should be able to drag menus around whichever way your primary monitor is set up...make sure you have "extend desktop to this monitor" checked

There's a lot of "if"s here so I'm not sure, but check this out. Only if you're using an nVidia card though:

Display Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> GeForce tab -> OpenGL Settings -> Multi-Display Hardware Acceleration -- if off, set it to Performance Mode.

By default the card might only accelerate the primary videooutput.

Again if you're using nVidia, try switching to nView Span mode instead of DualView, if that's what you're currently using (if you see two monitors under Display Properties -> Settings you're in DualView mode). To change that, go to the nView Display Mode area (Display Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> GeForce tab -> nView Display Mode) and check "Horizontal Span". There'll be some restarting involved following that.

nView mode accelerates both monitors nicely. In DualView acceleration on the 2nd monitor can be.. spotty, at times.

Indeed. Blindness strikes at the lamest times

Still, maybe you can catch the meaning of the driver-settings and find whatever features in the ATI drivers that corresponds with them.
