GODS OF WAR.

...ehhh..........well i must say

GODS OF ALL KNOWLEDGE " Bestow upon me , the pious shower of your wisdom "

Oops,......well im facing a problem rendering a piece of geometry in Maya 2008 mental ray with GI & Fg. Till i use a lambert shader things are fine, but as i use blinn ........I GET BLACK DOTS ALL OVER MY RENDER. but if i switch off raytrace, things are normal again even with blinn shader, but that turns off the FG as well..

ANY IDEAS....

Thanks in advance

Could you post an image of your render?

Have you brought this piece of geometry into a separate scene where everything was rendering correctly?

It's difficult to understand your problem. Whats your reason for insisting on using blinn? does using a mental ray shader solve the little black squares?

personally I used to use negative values in color offset of my textures sometimes (just lazy) and that in turn resulted in some black dots. I dont remember the technical explanation but i dont do it any more (duh) and don't get black dots.
