View Full Version : Hot Dog Stand-Concept Design
myles 07-28-2009, 09:01 AM This was a school project for my second quarter concept class ( i am currently in my 4th of 7). The goal was to design a functional concept design for a hot dog stand which needed to also close or be damaged. Any critiques from anyone who is willing to give them would be appreciated.

This looks nicely detailed. The only thing that jumps out at me is that the stairs might be too steep for some customers even with the railing.
Did you consider placing the booth lower on the structure so that it wouldn't need stairs? Because if you did that you would still be able to keep your idea for having the 'store front' open like a hotdog bun and it would probably be easier to transport (without the stairs).

Nice concept, I was thinking in the same lines as tb over.
How would the stairs affect a line of customers for example? Perhaps split the stair for up and down going customers :P
Anyways, nice job :)

Ha! I really like your design for your hot dog stand.
And you also got detail on it which is pretty nice.
Nice work! And keep working on :)

it looks like its on its side then stands up. if it shifts from a resting position to an upright position wouldnt stuff in side the stand tumble over?

This is real creative, im real impressed. Good color schemes too. I also like how being shaped like a hotdog the stand looks like its aero Dynamic

It's a cool idea but not terribly functional or feasable mechanically. I think it'd work better if the hot dog lay on it's side like this and opened horizontally (like a clam shell). You'd have much less issue with things falling off the shelves, and also a much larger cooking and serving area.
Cheers
