Nowadays I'm using max for my friend's architecture scene. I'm not so much experienced, I do little modeling and some animation. But I'm horrible in lighting. So is there anyone or any source that can give me empty scene including lights for a day time building scene?

PS: If anyone can help, I would be very glad...

Hello there

Well, I don't think theese are the top best exterior light setups, but in a big rush, with only a few mins I came up with theese:
I don't really know the max version you're using, so, pick one:
(I haven't got time for this really, to adjust all settings for the separate setups to look similar in result, but I1ve tried my best. The last two are the inbuilt max 5 daylight system defaults. No adjustments... )

Max default scanline, no GI, only several spots...
http://www.revai.hu/~mcdodee/upload/light%20scene/max_default_gi.jpg (http://http://www.revai.hu/~mcdodee/upload/light%20scene/max_default_gi.rar)
A setup with max 5's light tracer
http://www.revai.hu/~mcdodee/upload/light%20scene/brazil_gi.jpg (http://http://www.revai.hu/~mcdodee/upload/light%20scene/brazil_gi.rar)
Same setup, but with Brazil R/S
And some setups with Max 5's Advanced Lightning features, and the "Daylight" system...
Daylight with lighttracing (http://www.revai.hu/~mcdodee/upload/light%20scene/max_default_gisystem.rar)
Daylight with radiosity (solution calculated, but will need recalc for further usage!) (http://www.revai.hu/~mcdodee/upload/light%20scene/max_default_radiositysystem.rar)

Hope you'll be able to get somethin' out of this. I know it's not 'prima materia', but may help to get the main idea about bright exterior lightning.

By tha way, this reply was meant to be posted a few hour ago, but my PC crashed while typing, and I had to go somewhere really urgent. So, if it seems not really up to date, think of it, as it was created to be a first reply. :)

edit: an empty scene w/ lights in it wouldn't help you out at all, you can't light a scene w/out actually seeing it....

Many thanks Aldaryn...I'll work on your samples...and edaddy, in a way you are right but samples at least helps to understand the lighting parameters (because they are too much I think).
