Does anyone know why all of a sudden i open a scene i have been working on and all of my PNG images i used are appearing as red or gray boxes and are not animating at all? My files are in the same folder and have not been moved so there is no need to reload. This is very frustrating as i have to turn this work in very soon! When i click them in the Preview window, they display fine? Please any help would be greatly appriciated.

Check, whether any effects applied to the layers are acting up. Also, especially on Mac, check your QT install. It may interfere in PNG handling...

Thanks so much for the reply, but i have the latest QT installed and im using a PC. I can't see the effects applied because they appear as red or gray boxes. It's like my images are missing, yet i can see them in the project window. Anyway have this problem before?

I don't use PNGs much, but anything is possible. One more thing: Have you checked OpenGL? Problems with transparency blending could also explain bounding boxes being drawn...

Not really sure, i'll try to update my drivers to see if that fixes the problem.

If all else fails - re-save your images as PSDs (you can do this in Photoshop with an action very easily). Or trash your preferences in After Effects. It might be a corrupt file that is causing the issue and usually trashing the prefs solves it. Although save your layout and any other "user" customizations you've done in another location.

I found the problem! It seems my sapphire plugins have expired!!? I switch them off and my animations work again! I'll have to update my plugins. Thanks for the help.
