hi,
i am working on a project that includs a very big crowd of aliens.
in most of the shots, i created cycles of jumpig, cheering and waving aliens, and multiplyed them with After Effects.
in some cases of a closer camera, i must have a 3D crowd.
multiplying the bodyes wasnt so hard, using the Point Cache.
my problem is with the eyes and teath wich are conected to the hirarchy, and if i want to clone the character, i have to clone the bones as well.
if somebody have a simple solution, maybe a way of converting the movemet of the eyes and teath to position keyframs, ill be more than grateful.
thanks
yuval

by the way, to see the characters picture and its walking cycle, click on the green character on the bottom of this page:

I'm not certain about this, but I think you can use the World Space Point Cache on the eyes and teeth, then reposition them by linking them to a dummy object. If you assign the WS Point Cache to the whole alien (main mesh+eyes+teeth+any other renderable object) you should be able to just drag and drop them around the scene.

That's assuming World Space Point Cache lets you reposition objects by linking them and doesn't work with absolute coordinates. Like I say though, I'm not sure.

thank you Iain
it works grate.
i used the Point Cache Binding to all the elements.
to be able to clone the objects, you must first check on the "Use relative offsets"
you realy help me alot,
thanks for that !
