Hello All!

Just want to post the lastest work that is finally completed. It is music video for a local band in which we were asked to put in a cg butterlfy. This was my partner and my first photorealistic piece and first comp into live action. We have just recently completed our first year in animation (can't wait for the 2nd year) and are in the middle of creating our own company. The butterlfy was modeled, rigged, textured (hand painted), rendered, and comped by myself Troy Mack, and the animation was completed by Kerry Roberts. The video was filmed, edited, and color corrected by the director Vern Giammartino. This video is what helped the band to get recently signed on with maverick records. The video is also slated to be shown on Much music here in Canada and hopefully MTV. Anyways enough talk. Here are some screen shots and links the video and the band's website.

Good Videoclip. For the butterfly fx it is ok i think but the first sequence when you see it for the first time he look a bit blocky the way he move but the second it's ok. I like the part where she touch him and change color. But like i said at the end he's not subtle like he can be on the mic. I think it's the way that the wings move. Too straight. And the wings should have more transparency

Good work...Still:)

Thanks for the comments. I agree that the first bit is a little to blocky but that is what the director approved and who am i to argue. Oh well.

hey, pretty cool! not a bad song either... This kind of FX work isn't that impressive to the masses because it is so transparent...not like a cool dragon! lol

Congrats on finishing! it is very well blended with the background plates...well done.

Thanks for the comments guys! Yaa i guess it isn't as impressive as a dragon lol. But it was our first photorealistic piece and the first comp into live action. Was a fun project to work on, and is super cool that is actually being used in the real world. Anyways on with modeling a "dragon" l0l.
