Hi,
i decided to create a sort of toy (http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/822/toymaill.jpg) for kids and need to create a shader who looks like this (http://m2.sourcingmap.com/smap/images/item/catalog/ux_a08091800ux0057_ux_c.jpg) a soft gummy plastic who get an inner light who pass throught the plastic.
i am testing (http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4650/bulbytestrendertop.jpg) with a mia sss fast simple shader, a point light in and behind, but i get a problem, with sss the material doesn't emit light and looks dull (http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/6505/dullbulby.jpg), i tryed to increase the settings of the diffuse but i gets some weird things, the sss gets bad when i check the photon emission of my area light ( no intensity)
if i increase the settings of the unscattered diffuse layer i will not see the effects, and do not resolve the fact that the light in the bulb doesn't pass throught, i tryed to plug a mia light surface on the shading group photon shader nothin happened, other thing , the sss is very tricky to adjust and depends too much of the other lights while the inner light should do 99% of the work...
finally i am wondering if sss is the good material and if you gets some advices...
